Super Lucky's Tale - "A boring platform after sump standard"
In the realm of the A-List and Indie platform fans, Super Lucky's Tale just acted in a unclouded. At best, due to its family-friendly art style, it seemed to be a platform game for children. Although Super Lucky's Tale did not really cross borders or enter new territory, there was still fun. Problems such as camera control and length agreed, but since some of us saw no reason to worry about it, it was a nice surprise.
Death Stranding - "It's just a bad running simulator"
Death Stranding to designate as a running simulator is not quite inaccurate, but it is certainly the worst when you stop it as a running simulator. The game is mainly dealing with explorations and planning excursions through a postalist-like landscape with lush greenery and cold snow. Supernatural curiosities such as the BTS and projects and messages left by other players are added as they fight with the control of the charge weight and the movement. It is trippy and there is a sense of satisfaction to build things and get preferences from others. The story may not be anyone's thing, but the action has its charm for the outstanding presentation.
Warframe - "It's worth winning only"
As a warframe for the first time won popularity, many interested people inevitably asked: "Is not it worth winning?" The worry about poor condition is quite justified, and while it is possible to buy weapons and warframes with premium currency (what Real costs money), you can also earn this currency by trading. Many of these items can also be easily acquired in the game and manufactured in their own ship. While there is a certain incentive to pay for skipping, they are not strong enough to spend money on the best things.
Middle earth: Shadow of Mordor - "Assassins Creed Rip-Off"
At first sight of Middle earth: Shadow of Mordor I have called it as a simple Assassin Creed clone with the fight of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Both points were at best as surface observations. In truth, Shadow of Mordor mixed Stealth, melee and ranging and exploration as he introduced the stellar Nemesis system. This has significantly changed the interaction with the world as manipulating orcs that destroy the hierarchy and can even use them as an ally. The end could have been "bleh", but as a whole Shadow of Mordor was much more than "inspired".
Mass Effect Andromeda - "terrible"
Who can not remember all the memes to the animations and bugs? Those who played Effect Andromeda had more serious problems. What was meant as a new mass effect, not only places earlier games in the shadows, but was considered bad. While Andromeda is not the best game, it is with good battles and some interesting characters anything but the worst. If it had a better overall picture, much more shine and dozens of other things, public perception may have been different.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - "Lame Souls Wannabe"
When Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars Jedi: Falling order on E3 2018, we were fascinated. After all, EA had questionable results with his Star Wars projects. Could that be different? Queue E3 2019 and the first gameplay presentation were not just convincing. The graphics and the aesthetics were nice, but the fight looked like a budget version of Sekiro: Shadows the Twice, mixed with something uncharted-like adventure. When the game was finally released, it was indeed a game with Sekiro-like battles and explorations, and it was damn funny, offered a good challenge, a well-told story, sympathetic characters and really interesting offset pieces.
Metroid: Samus returns - "Really? Mercurysteam? "
If you think of "Metroidvania", your first thought is probably not at Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. It was developed by Mercurysteam and was not really awful, but not very good or fit to the 2D heritage of the franchise. So it became known that Mercurysteam develops the Metroid 2-Remake Samus Returns, there were only concerns. Fortunately, the developer has mastered this task and reinvented the original in great way with excellent production values and new mechanisms as melee.
Dark Souls - "It's unfair hard"
The initial air around Dark Souls at the start was that it was difficult in unfair dimensions. So many wutzuspams were created on the basis of their difficulty; Master of the game were viewed with awe. We will not find out the "hard, but fair" cliché or the fact that players had to make "nonsense". But all these years later, it becomes more obvious that Dark Souls - and other games like Sekiro, Nioh, Bloodborne etc. - are more of patience and knowledge. What did you do wrong, what is the best strategy and so on? These decide on success. Suddenly the game lost difficulty and more emphasis was placed on the tradition and its metaphors for loneliness in a damn world. But that's another story for another day.
Sekiro: Shadow die twice - "It does not look so hard"
So you played Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Nioh and maybe Monster Hunter. As she saw Sekiro: Shadows the Twice and his mechanics, they probably thought, "Sure I'm ready". In truth, it was just a few of us. The Souls fans who worked with the mechanics found a fleshy game with distractions, counters, jumps, and some of the best battles that exist. Those who were not in dying. Again and again and again. Exercise makes the master as you say, even if you swear that you will never return.
NO MAN'S SKY - "There is no way it bounces back"
Hello Games, No Man's Sky, who has already been awarded several times as "greatest disappointment of the year", seemed to fail at starting. With regard to the sale, it was quite successful, but even the fans said that they did not have multiplayer, Polish or a strong orientation. Critics were of the opinion that this was right for the studio, and there was no back, let alone a way to turn things around. And behold, Hello Games has done all this and much more: basic education, more story content, better graphics, multiplayer, social spaces and much more. Today is the fan base for No Man's Sky alive and the future of the game is rosy and proves that it is beautiful to lie wrong in some things.
The Division - "This game is dead and the developers do not care about"
The division was in a similar situation like no man's sky, but not at the start. The game had his bugs and problems, but was still very entertaining. Unfortunately, the messy dandruff and difficulty, the agitious booty drops, the numerous disorders and the breeding ground for the toxicity, which made the dark zone made, destroyed any goodwill. It was the feeling that massive entertainment did not understand what the community wanted. Several months later, however, the first one of several important updates would arrive to revise the entire game. This would result in better prey Drops, more reasons to play in the LZ and more balanced activities. This would later mark the rise of the division, even if there are still a few bumps on the way there.
The Last Guardian - "Never comes out"
The Last Guardian was first revealed at E3 2009 as the next game of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus director Fumito UEDA. It seemed like a slam dunk, but disappeared quickly in the dark. Ueda's farewell to Sony (though he remained the director) did not help. Originally planned for the PS3, the Last Guardian should be announced for the PS4, but a publication date was not in sight. We thought it would never come and even if, it could be impossible to get a good game. Safe enough, The Last Guardian was published in 2016 and praised by the criticism. And yes, at the end of the day it was a good game.
Monster Hunter World - "The fight is chunky and not intuitive"
Anyone who wants to get in the monsters Hunter World - or any entry in the series - is discouraged by several key messages. Grinding is one, but the fight is probably a bigger problem. At first I found the fight as cumbersome, slowly and not intuitive. As it turned out, the fight of Monster Hunter World was much deeper. Different weapons required different approaches, monsters needed time to master them, preparation was the key, etc. In addition, the weapons felt strong and properly felt strongly and properly for each weapon type. It can take a while until they got used to it, but make no mistake: the fight of Monster Hunter World is first class.
