PSC Games has announced plans to publish an adaptation of the popular table game for PC that follows the military feats of Rome for almost two centuries. PSC will launch a kickstarter to finance the project at the end of this year. The board game will reproduce many of the characteristics of the original video game, including a balance between military maneuvers and economy. It's a game of war that builds an empire with an economic engine, said the director of PSC, Will Townshend, to Wargamer.com earlier this week. But the emphasis is on, as in the videogame, build armies and beat your opponents.

Total of Rome was originally launched in 2004 as part of the total game of games. The game had two different modes: a real-time battle simulator in which you gave orders to your armies in real time and reacted to the movements of the enemy, and a shift mode focused on the construction of empires. Several expansions were launched, one that added new features such as the Huns, the vandals and the Goths, as well as a new mechanics of religion, as well as an expansion that added a campaign after the rise of Alejandro Magno.

Total of Rome received widespread praise during its initial launch and is still considered one of the best strategy games of all time. A sequel was launched in 2013, and the mobile versions were launched in 2018. Feral Interactive also launched an extensive remastery of the game earlier this year.

More details about the total of Rome's Total, the board game is expected to be released next week. At the end of this year, a kickstarter will be launched for the game.
